Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Mobility Assistance: Support patients with safe transfers, walking, and ambulation to prevent falls and ensure comfort.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, ensuring linens are changed and rooms are sanitized.
- Communication: Report changes in patient condition, behavioral changes, or accidents immediately to the RN/LPN on duty.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation of care provided in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Meal Support: Assist patients with feeding and ensure they have access to fluids and nutritional needs are met.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active California CNA License required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and rotating holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transfer patients (up to 50 lbs), and maintain physical stamina.
