Responsibilities
- Deliver Personal Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any changes to the charge nurse.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move, transfer, or walk safely using mobility aids and proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Medication Support: Under the supervision of a registered nurse, remind patients to take their medications and assist with medication administration.
- Document Care: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient care activities, symptoms, and reactions in the electronic health record system.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure a cohesive care plan.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment for all.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active and current CNA certification required (State of Tennessee).
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Schedule: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and be willing to work rotating shifts.
- Soft Skills: Strong empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
