Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, operating wheelchairs and stretchers safely.
- Document patient care plans, changes in condition, and daily activities in electronic health records (EHR).
- Administer medication as directed by nursing staff, including oral medications and injections as authorized.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to prevent infection and ensure patient comfort.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Ohio.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
