Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to wheelchair and walking.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Communicate patient status changes and concerns to the nursing staff and physicians promptly.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized patient environment.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- Current, valid Illinois State CNA license.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
