Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring and walking, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Monitor and report any changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Case Manager immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document all care activities, patient interactions, and observations accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of Florida.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient dignity and privacy.
