As a Medical Assistant at NY Health Partners, you will play a crucial role in our clinical operations, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care with warmth and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Perform vital sign checks (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and record accurate data.
- Administer medications and injections under strict supervision.
- Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., blood draws, urinalysis) following safety protocols.
- Greet patients, verify information, and manage patient intake and scheduling.
- Maintain strict cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment.
- Assist in updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings.
