Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the RN immediately.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times using proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status.
- Assist with feeding and hydration as directed by the individual care plan.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Illinois CNA License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
