Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and compounding IV solutions
- Maintain precise medication records in pharmacy information systems
- Provide patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and sterile compounding devices
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Ensure compliance with DEA regulations and pharmacy board standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., Omnicell, Epic Rx)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and drug classifications
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
