Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications following state regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient records
- Assist pharmacists in sterile compounding and medication preparation
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license (CPHT)
- Prior pharmacy experience preferred (retail/hospital)
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
