Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceuticals
- Maintain precise patient records and medication profiles in our digital system
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and compound sterile preparations
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic understanding of HIPAA compliance protocols
