Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including verification, inventory control, and documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription entry, inventory management, and billing
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and maintaining department efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Texas Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for prescription calculations and inventory management
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
