Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide patient counseling under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory, ordering, and controlled substance documentation
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing efficiently
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures following strict protocols
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and prescription documentation
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on department procedures
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license required
- PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (QS1, PDX, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
