Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Maintain controlled substance inventory with strict compliance protocols
- Provide medication counseling to patients regarding usage and side effects
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain prescription records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve medication-related inquiries
- Ensure sterile compounding procedures for IV and other specialized medications
- Participate in inventory management and stock rotation processes
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or NHA certification)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Attention to detail with precise measurement and documentation abilities
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records
