Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and compound preparations following prescription orders
- Verify patient information and insurance details for all prescriptions
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Provide professional medication counseling to patients and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and pharmacy board regulations
Qualifications
- Active PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of FDA medication safety protocols
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with precise attention to detail
- Valid DC pharmacy technician license
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding procedures preferred
