Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and patient billing with meticulous attention to detail
- Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and pharmacy systems
- Train junior technicians on standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication regimens
Qualifications
- Minnesota Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 3 years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong mathematical skills for compounding and dosing calculations
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
