Responsibilities
- Accurately compound and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility through third-party systems
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and prescription databases
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain sterile compounding environments
- Train new technicians on pharmacy software and operational protocols
Qualifications
- Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
