Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and refill procedures
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of FDA medication regulations and dispensing protocols
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and EMR systems
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
