Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including data entry and insurance verification
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations (DEA, HIPAA)
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related inquiries
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and prescription abbreviations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
