Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to state and federal regulations.
- Process incoming prescriptions, verify insurance information, and handle payments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts to ensure product availability.
- Assist pharmacists with sterile compounding and medication preparation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and educating them on medication usage.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient confidentiality.
- Operate pharmacy software systems and point-of-sale equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT or PTCE) required.
- Current, active Virginia Pharmacist Technician License.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills.
