Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identity and accurately complete all required paperwork and labels.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control policies, OSHA guidelines, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Collect, process, and transport biological specimens to the laboratory promptly and accurately.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to alleviate anxiety, and answer general health-related questions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready.
Qualifications
- Current Florida Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification and valid State License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting or high-volume phlebotomy preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
