As a Phlebotomy Tech, you will play a crucial role in the diagnostic process, ensuring accurate specimen collection and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort.
- Prepare and label blood specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper documentation in the EMR system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification (ASCP, NHA, etc.) required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates with clinical rotation experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients when necessary.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
