Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Handle and sterilize surgical equipment according to strict protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and sterile processing standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
