Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow
- Implement evidence-based triage protocols for diverse patient populations
- Oversee rapid response team activations for critical cases
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (Epic EMR)
- Lead quality improvement initiatives in emergency care
- Mentor junior staff on advanced triage techniques
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years ED/trauma experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Triage Certification
- Exceptional critical decision-making abilities
- Experience with ESI 5-level triage systems
- Strong proficiency in Epic EMR
