Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize emergency cases using established triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers during critical situations
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans and interventions
- Monitor patient flow and allocate resources efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Provide education to patients regarding home care and follow-up instructions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or critical care experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proven ability to make rapid clinical decisions in high-stress situations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with Epic or similar healthcare IT platforms
