Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/during/after surgeries
- Scrub in and circulate in various surgical specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Experience in orthopedic and neuro-surgical specialties preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
