Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions, including checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing to patients.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are replenished in a timely manner.
- Assist the Pharmacist with compounding medications and handling special orders.
- Process insurance claims and communicate with patients regarding their prescriptions.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations (HIPAA).
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to obtain certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current valid state Pharmacy Technician license in California.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
