Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Verify prescription orders for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness.
- Process insurance claims and handle co-payments efficiently.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments and restocking shelves.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding medications and preparing intravenous (IV) solutions.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and resolve inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Current, unencumbered state license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and medication storage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy automation software and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
