Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile environment protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for patient safety
- Document perioperative activities in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- BLS/CPR certification with current AHA provider status
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument care
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
