Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with proper instrument passing
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of acute care operating room experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/AST)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Tennessee surgical tech license
- Experience with orthopedic/neurosurgical procedures preferred
