Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sponges, anticipating their needs.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and aseptic environments to prevent infection.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the surgical team immediately.
- Ensure the accurate counting of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
- Document patient information, procedures, and instrument counts accurately in medical records.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies and assist with room turnover and sterilization processes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods during surgeries.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable transportation.
