Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical supplies and equipment before and after procedures
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- Proficiency in laparoscopic and robotic instrumentation
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
- Maryland state license preferred
