Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce strict infection control standards throughout surgical cases
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms and prepare them for surgery
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments following established protocols
- Document all procedures and inventory in accordance with hospital policies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based surgical experience
- Expert knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
