Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterility
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Mentor junior technicians and enforce safety protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedures accurately and maintain regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Expertise in multiple surgical specialties (ortho, neuro, cardio)
- BLS and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proven leadership skills with ability to train staff
- Strong knowledge of sterilization standards (AAMI, AORN)
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
