Responsibilities
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and pre-authorization requirements
- Post payments and adjustments using EHR systems (Epic/Cerner experience a plus)
- Resolve claim denials through appeals and documentation follow-up
- Conduct regular account analysis and aging report reviews
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate coding (ICD-10/CPT)
Qualifications
- 1+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., Athena, AdvancedMD, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
- Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or CPC certification preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage high-volume accounts and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
