Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Apply sterile dressings and monitor patient vital signs during operations
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and sterilization equipment
- Adhere to OSHA and hospital safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and on-call shifts
