Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sutures with precision and speed.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to aseptic technique protocols.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical history during surgery.
- Position patients on the operating table and create surgical incisions as directed by the surgeon.
- Control the flow of blood and other fluids during complex procedures.
- Ensure all surgical supplies and instruments are accurately counted and accounted for.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
