Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures (retraction, suturing, etc.)
- Maintain sterile environments and aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-procedure
- Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves, etc.)
- Document surgical procedures accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience with general surgery specialties preferred
