Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via telehealth and in-person triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop effective treatment plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families during critical moments
- Adhere to HIPAA protocols and emergency response protocols
- Monitor patient vitals and escalate critical cases immediately
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years triage or ER experience
- BLS/ACLS certification required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
