Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Perform surgical equipment sterilization and maintenance per OSHA standards
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for surgical safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong understanding of surgical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
