Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain strict sterile technique and enforce infection control standards
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification and current California state license
- Expert knowledge in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
