Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report any changes in patient condition, symptoms, or behavior to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist with Daily Living Activities: Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating to ensure patients' hygiene and comfort.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Support: Assist patients with medication reminders and administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients safely transfer in and out of bed, wheelchairs, and walkers, utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment, including stocking linens and supplies.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Texas State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Compliance: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
