Responsibilities
- Deliver Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer patients using proper techniques and assist with walking or using mobility aids.
- Provide Nutritional Support: Serve meals, ensure proper hydration, and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Maintain Documentation: Complete accurate patient charts, incident reports, and care plans in a timely manner.
- Ensure Safety: Identify potential safety hazards and report them immediately to the nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for enthusiastic candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients and families.
