Responsibilities
- Provide basic bedside care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate, reporting any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse or RN.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist patients with eating, ensuring dietary restrictions are met.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, changes in condition, and assistance provided, accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by following proper infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (ACLS preferred but not required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
