Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Patient Health: Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely from beds to wheelchairs or walkers, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Document Patient Records: Accurately record patient information, symptoms, progress, and care provided in electronic medical records.
- Medication Assistance: Provide reminders to patients about prescribed medications and report any adverse reactions to the nursing staff.
- Communicate with Team: Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a Clean Environment: Keep patient rooms and common areas tidy and sanitized to prevent infection.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of North Carolina or Virginia.
- High School Diploma: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient and professional demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients weighing up to 200 lbs for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a passion for helping the elderly or disabled population.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
