Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Assistance: Support nursing staff with patient transfers, mobility assistance, and positioning to prevent bedsores.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Ensure patients maintain proper hygiene and assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Communication: Document patient care activities, updates, and changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR).
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active New York State (NYS) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for patients.
