Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide basic patient care as directed by the RN, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Mobility Assistance: Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises to ensure their safety and comfort.
- HCAHPS Support: Promote a positive patient experience by maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient status and needs.
- Hygiene: Monitor and assist with personal hygiene and incontinence care to maintain dignity and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to read and write English.
- Compassion: Genuine compassion and a desire to help patients with daily living activities.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; ability to stand for long periods.
