Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, utilizing transfer techniques and equipment safely to prevent falls.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and changes in condition accurately in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to promote patient comfort and infection control.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active and in good standing in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, if required.
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
