Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Document all care activities and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) promptly.
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana CNA license required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must demonstrate empathy, patience, and a professional demeanor.
