Responsibilities
- Deliver Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical notes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to strict hygiene protocols and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Patient Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for patient inquiries, providing emotional support and clear communication regarding care plans.
- Crisis Response: Monitor patient conditions for changes and respond promptly to emergencies or distress signals.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active North Carolina CNA license required.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for patients.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records.
