Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with patient transfers and mobility, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring patients with dietary restrictions are accommodated appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including stocking supplies and sanitizing equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR) as per hospital policy.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred; Entry-level candidates with strong healthcare motivation are encouraged to apply.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong compassion, empathy, and a desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
